Title: Exporting the dimension lines
Post by: Apeiron on June 23, 2012, 06:50:58 AM
Hello,
I want to ask you if it's posible to export the dimension lines with the layer name like I can with the text or lines, etc.
If I can't export, maybe it will be posible in the next update.

Hi!

You can explode all dimensions to get dimension annotations to MText, then export to Excel

I made allready like this.
I want to explaine my ideea.
In my case, the dimensions lines are made manually in some cross sections. From the left limit till the right limit. If you export the text or mtext, CadTools is making a list with values one under other value. Maybe is posible to export in the same line all the text or dimensions values, in diferent cells to see them in excel like I see in the cross section.
Good luck.

A good idea for this:
Use the Command of  Cadtools
Lines / Length calculate  to exploded poyline
Better is if we can have a choise to the command
for the  vertices of a poyline
so   we can do this without explosion of the polyline

An other way :
to put text dimensions to lines
Use the command  of cadtool :
Text/ Insert line aligned text - option Length.
You can export length to Excell with command
Text/ export text to excell
This command work with expoded polylines .
If there was an option for vertices of a polyline  will work without exposion of course better
