Title: Create 3d Alignment - select frame, horizontal line, vertical line
Post by: gvdpeor on February 19, 2020, 08:31:40 PM
Hello
When creating a 3d alignment from a profile frame, what is the actual "frame line" requested? How is elevation data and vertical exaggeration coded into the line?

Sometimes I can't find the line or while editing the profile gris for readability I loose the line that is needed to complete this command. Usually the command works beautifully but I'm always in doubt that I'm doing it correctly.
thanks

Hi,

The frame line is the vertical line to the left. This line contains information about elevation and exaggeration of the profile line. When you construct a profile line of your own in the frame area that information is used to create a 3D polyline, transform your profile line to the line in plane (horizontal)

Thanks for your prompt reply.
So, is it possible to see that data in the properties window? Can the line be moved, extended or otherwise modified without altering the data pertaining to the profile? Just curious.

The profile line is calculated when you select "create 3D alignment" so you may edit or move your profile as you wish.
