Surface Profile....Projected Reference Line problem
« on: August 05, 2015, 10:18:54 AM »
hi lars

have you ever seen a problem like the attached images....1 showing the preview window and the 2nd when plotted

something is clearly not right with the Projected reference line......any ideas......from what I can make out the points where the line 'shoots' to the left do not correspond to anything along the 3D polylines selected....the 3D polylines look fine in orbit mode

up to now been working really well

Hi!

To create the reference line CadTools check for reference perpendicular to the alignment. Depending on distance to your reference and angle between alignment and reference this can be the case but it would be correct. You can easily check it by  draw perpendicular lines from the reference lines vertices to your alignment segments. The displayed reference is built by points based on alignment station for the perpendicular line from reference vertex and reference vertex elevation.

If you still has some doubts, please send me a sample of your Surface file and a DWG with your alignment and reference file.
