CadTools on ZWCAD 2017
« on: July 06, 2016, 03:29:08 PM »
ZWCAD 2017 is recently released, and CadTools doesn't support it yet.

Is there any plan to update CadTools, so that it can run with ZWCAD 2017?

Have you tested?

Yes I tested, but it doesn't work on ZWCAD 2017.

Be sure to run only one instance of ZWCAD+

Thanks Lars.

ZWCAD 2017 was released by the end of June 2016. And the latest version of CadTools was updated on 2016-04-19 Build 713. And ZWCAD 2017 is not a ZWCAD+ series, but using a brand new kernel. So are you still sure that the current CadTools works on ZWCAD 2017?

I did the test, with only ZWCAD 2017 running. But CadTools says "The CAD Application is not running, or wrong version!". In Settings, I have "ZWCAD+ 2014 or higher" selected for "Cad version and parameter".

Thanks.

Hi

I'll look into this as soon as I get my hands on a copy of ZWCAD 2017.

Hi
I also have ZWCAD 2017 and I'm user of cadtools for many years and it's been perfect to me.
I have the same problem as malizh, error message:  "The CAD Application is not running, or wrong version!"
Please tell me do you have any solution on line for this problem?

I Think ZWCAD 2017 still is in Beta stage. You could try to update your ZWCAD to the lastest version.

Hello Mr. Lars,

I hope you are doing well. Again thank you for your software it is still very useful.
I confirm that it seems ZWCAD 2017 is not supported by Cadtool (I have re-installed latest version 2016-04-19 Build 713), I used to use Cadtool with ZWCAD+ 2014.
Actually ZWCAD 2017 is not recognized "The CAD Application is not running, or wrong version!", is it because it is named now ZWCAD and not ZWCAD+ ? Is there any future update of Cadtool in this regard ?

Thank you.

Regards,

Lars

Hi!

CadTools will support ZWCAD as long as the ZWCAD's developers keep the COM object identical to AutoCad's COM object.

Hello,

I've just tested CadTools on ZwCAD 2017. To make it work you must manualy enter Cad version and parameter, so in this case ''zwcad.application''. In lower versions Zwsoft used zwcad+ name, since 2017 they droped ''+'' sign. Some functions doesn't work but I can confirm that 85% of them work just fine. Problem ocures when you want to make multiple points/ reapete comands with Cadtools.

They made some modifications in ZwCad2017 and that is the reason why some comand dosen't work (slope and road signs) or they partly work (track offset and station form PL).

Hope this information helps.

S.

Info: I made some tests, they must changed something how the polyline is drawn. Problem ocures with comands: Revision cloud, Offset Multiple and 3d (make only one offset, cannot make multiple offset), track station can track only one point, have to reapete command, ...
