Title: annotation of distances between two unparallel polylines

Lars hello. I have an issue. Is it possible to annotate the distances between the vertices of two polylines that are not parallel but their vertices are on the same y-axis (as from profiles)?
The other thing I want to ask you is if it is possible to draw a profile of two or three 3d polylines in the same profile? (For example a comparison of the natural ground and an excavation or a pipeline?).
As for the window for creating profiles, is it possible to select the color of the lines from horizontal axis to the vertices?

Hi,

I'm sorry but there is tool for annotating distance between vertices of two lines. However you can export the line coordinates to Excel an calculate the differens and in Y (plus the midpoint) and then X value. Finally use "Draw from Coordinates" to annotate the midpoint with the difference (length) at the midpoint x. If there is a even distance between the all X value you can use "Transverse 3D Polylines Between 3D Polylines" to annotate direct. If it is a uneven space in the beginning you can always break the line at the first vertex to get it to start at your first vertex and join the polyline afterwards.
 
Draw two or three 3D Polylines in same profile? Yes if you use the "Surface Profile" tool. If you use the surface profile tool you can project 3Dpolylines from the DWG into the profil while creating the profile. In the top menu of the Surface Profile Window you have "Display Reference". If you plot the Surface Profile to the DWG the reference lines will be placed at same layer as they had when picked. Remember this is is a projected line! Projected lines that lies beside your selected alignment is viewed as a perpendicular view from your alignments vertices.

You can display multiple surfaces in the Surface Profile, if you have a Excavation surface and a Existing ground you can also offset a pipe invert level to booth sides (radius) and then triangulate. This surface can be added in the surface profile and displayed in the final result. If there are gaps in the line you would know that the gaps represents parts of your alignment where the pipeline is not aligned with the Profiles selected alignment.

I don't think there is a option for changing color of the axis. This is left to the user ;)
