Potential for Autocad LT support?
« on: July 08, 2016, 10:02:48 AM »
This piece of software looks absolutely amazing! I know that you have indicated on the information that LT is not supported however I currently run AutoCAD LT 2016, I was wondering if there was a way to use this software with it or whether there were plans to enable it to work with LT in the future?

I apologise if this question has been asked before, I did check the forum to see if I could find a detailed Q&A on this matter.

Hi!

There are no plans for supporting AutoCad LT. This is due limitations in AutoCad.

Good day Lars,

Was using Full version AutoCAD 2018 and loved the vehicle turning function to test if trucks can maneuver on site. I was recently retrenched and the company closed. I am now doing free lance civil engineering design work (2D) and could only afford Autocad 2025 LT. I understood that 3d was not possible with the Lite version of AutoCad. Was wondering if it is possible to have a vehicle turning function only that can be used for the Lite version.  The type of work that I do does not require the other functions.

(While I was using the full version, I used most of your tools and also want to use this opportunity to say thank you!!! )

Regards PeterM

Hi,

CadTools does not work with AutoCAD LT due to lack of ActiveX Automation. AutoCAD LT is a limited version of AutoCAD. For about 25 years ago there was a software (LT-Extender) that added missing features and made LT version more or less to a full-blown AutoCAD. However Autodesk's lawyers forced the software company to bury the software in 2000.

As an option CadTools also works with BricsCAD and ZWCAD. For Vehicle turning there are also versions for Intellicad and Microstation.
