Point section/offset from polyline
« on: February 05, 2026, 11:43:16 AM »
I would like to ask what could be the problem - since I am using Windows 11, the command "Point section/offset from polyline" does not work for me.
After successfully running the command and successfully selecting the polyline, I select the point I want. Then every time appears a window with message: (Point vs polyline) Type mismatch. And the command is terminated.
Tested on Autocad 2024+2026, Autocad Map3D 2024+2026 + CadTools 1.1.768 registered.
Previously, on Windows 10, everything worked without problems.

I welcome any idea, thanks

First you select the polyline and after that you select any position in the drawing with your crosshair (you don't need to select a point Object). That point need to be in a place where it is possible to get a perpendicular line between your position and the polyline.

The Error is thrown when CadTools expect a certain object but gets another type. e.g a number is expected but user provides a letter.

I'm sorry if my question made it seem like I don't know how to use the command. I've been using it for years, but this message only started after switching to Windows 11. That's okay, these things happen.

There are no reports of that kind of error. You can try to do it in a clean DWG. Add a polyline and try the command (could it be something with a Layer?)
