possible bug ver.1.1.700 and some suggestions
« on: December 07, 2015, 08:20:55 AM »
Hello.
I don't know if it's that supposed to be but it seems to me like it's bug. In profile/cross section note on the station part, when you set rotation and with ask for annotation location selected, the vertical offset setting does not work.
Also, it would be great if one could select placing notes in line (like in row) by selecting first note place and direction, and the rest of offset settings would
then apply to that type of positioning.
On track station and offset it would be great to have an option to make station text line-aligned perpendicular to alignment, selection if I want station, offset or both, and size of text to be changed here rather then in settings. Also an option to select a point on polyline from where the stationing would begin if I don't want to start from first vertex of poly...
And last suggestion (for now :) ) would be for profile polyline. It would be great if one could also select an alignment or polyline and program would draw profile of 3dpoly but with respect to perpendicularity to alignment (because profiling 3dpoly like it's now is not applicable for cross sectioning unless the points are in strict line, on top view, and perpendicular to alignment) and it would draw it starting from alignment as the Y axis of the graph (so there would be a gap between Y axis and the start of poly in graph) if 3dpoly is on the right side of the alignment, and vice versa for the left side. Also an option for vertical text bellow the graph would be a bonus...
bye and thanx for great program

Hi!

I've tried to reproduce the behavior in your description without any luck. Try to increase offset values and be sure to use correct decimal separators.

Thanks’ for your suggestions on enhancements of CadTools. This utility has been developed over a long period and the codebase is rather big. Unfortunately it's hard to get time for implementing new features. I don't even know if CadTools will work beyond Windows 10.

"Station/Offset, workaround" If you want to start your stationing from a point at the polyline, use AutoCADs "Break" to divide the line before using CadTools command.

"Profile/Polyline" Try to use a surface and create a surface profile, the use "display reference" to project polylines into the profile.
