Windows 10 installation problem
« on: July 20, 2016, 02:42:11 PM »
Hi, I recently "upgraded" to Windows 10 but am having trouble installing CadTools. The .msi installation program gives a "Fatal Error Installation ended prematurely because of an error" message, and CadTools_setup.exe doesn't seem to do anything?? I'm running as Administrator so that isn't the problem.

Hi,

Problems of this kind are not reported, try to download the installtion file (msi) again.

Thanks Lars, problem sorted - either an issue with my anti-virus software or possibly an administrator rights problem.

So uninstaled cadtools to install again as admin . But now I can't  install again because a new message appears that a dll file is missing.    So I must say good bye windows 10 because not only cadtools but a lot of programs I have can't work.

I found an older version of cadtools (658) and the instaled again as admin.
I tried to work again but the problem remains. Now says that I have  wrong version
of autocad although in settings is ok AUTOCAD 2008 17.1
I will try to update to the last 713 version
And ....
But as I said to post before I prefer to go back to Win 7
because I have a lot of compatibility problems to all my software
