Windows 10
« on: October 29, 2017, 08:40:43 PM »
Hi Lars
I have recently upgraded to Win 10 and now Cadtools comes up with the wrong version message others users have experienced.
I am using Autocad version 2010.
I have tried the uninstall - reinstall - run cadtools and autocad as administrator without success.
Is there any update on running on Windows 10 that might work ?

Thanks for a great program - thanks to Microsoft for messing it up.

Uninstall and then try to also run Cadtools installation with administrate rights (right click and choose run as administrator)

Thanks for suggestions. I did try uninstalling Cadtools and running both AutoCAD and Cadtools as an administrator without success.
I'm not sure if its relevant but if I try using Cadtools after installation without having AutoCAD open I get the same error message.

That's correct, you get same error due to CadTools can't recognise Autocad.
Did you run the installation of CadTools as administrator?

I may not have run the installation as an administrator. I will uninstall and try again.
Thank you once again for your assistance.

Hi Lars

I managed to - as an administrator, install CadTools, open Autocad and run the Cadtools exe file.
Unfortunately I now get the following message:-

Runtime error 339
Component @mscomct2.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I have noticed that this file and mscomctl.ocx,  msflxgrd.ocx and msvbvm60.dll are in the Cadtools/windows/system32 folder if that means anything.

I do hope you can solve this problem as I use Cadtools a great deal.
Best regards

Lars

Try to search your computer for the file MSCOMCT2.OCX, if you find it copy it to CadTools folder. If you don't find it try to install again it should be included in the installation.
The file MSCOMCT2.OCX is a Microstation system file (ActiveX) containing graphic controls for Windows forms (Common Controls).

Probably one of the mscomct2's dependency files missing.
