CadTools, Civil Design Tool

Vehicle Turning Simulations. Swept path analysis software

xTurn series (Vehicle Turning Simulation Software for Free)

Free tool for AutoCAD and BricsCAD
Including Vehicle Turning Simulation (Swept path analysis)

CadTools (ToolBox) is a software developed for Civil Engineers using CAD. There are a number of great software on the market supporting the design process of roads, rails etc. The final design of the drawing is often left for the user without any support other than the CAD’s usual tools and commands. CadTools is an out of process software and supports AutoCAD and BricsCAD.

This software includes many useful extra commands and helps you with the final design. In fact, sometimes you don't need any other design tool than CadTools.

Ongoing Projects

Do you remember Shell's BISAR software?

This project (BITRAR) will result in a software that resembles BISAR but runs on newer Windows versions. The development is in .Net environment and the stage is in Beta.

Latest features added to the package 2024-03-07 is a tool for PCN/PCR Classification.
Other included Tools is "Drill down" charts (simulates a probe traveling down through the construction). Frost Heave (lift) calculations for Swedish conditions is developed as a separate installation.

Vehicle turning software simulates vehicle turning at low speed and determines vehicle tire tracking and swept paths. Its useful in the design of road intersections, parking lots and other vehicular facilities.

The main purpose is to supply a simple tool for non critical conditions of vehicle turnings. Although the resulting swept path from this free tool is identical to results from other software it's likely some difference in the behavior.

10 default types of vehicles are supported. Every vehicletype has its own figuration ruled by a combination of segments, the first segment is the truck, the second is either a trailer or a tow bar and so on. You can easily create your own vehicles by copying a existing vehicle and change parameters. You can use up to 4 segments including the truck, that would give you a Triple trailer and I think that would cover most of the common situations.

There are a couple of professional software on the market that do this kind of calculations much better and faster but they cost tons of money. This one is for FREE! Hope you enjoy it!
